What this film is

Ubuntu is a documentary about Cape Town — the crime, yes, but more importantly, the community, the humanity, and the hope. It's shot by two lifelong friends: Jamie, a former UK police officer of fifteen years, and Sam, a former Royal Marine Commando. Both of us are fathers. Both of us have spent careers around danger. And both of us went to Cape Town wanting to understand a place we'd only ever heard about through headlines.

What it isn't

It isn't parachute journalism. It isn't misery tourism. It isn't a hot take. We went, we listened, we filmed, and we're letting the people who live there tell their own story.

What happens next

  • The full film will be released later this year.

  • If you want to know the moment it drops, join the waitlist — one email, no noise.

  • If you want to help it travel, share the trailer with one person you think should see it. That's the whole ask.

Thank you for being here early. It matters more than you know.

— Jamie & Sam
