Cape Town streets through the eyes of the Mounted Unit
By Jamie Clark & Sam Seeley · No Excuse Films

The headlines rarely tell the whole story.
When most people think of policing in South Africa, they think of crime statistics, gang violence and dramatic incidents.
But during our time filming of @acapetownstory with the SAPS Mounted Unit, we found something else.
Professionalism.
Humour.
Pride.
Dedication.
These officers patrol some of Cape Town’s most challenging communities, often building relationships with local residents that simply wouldn’t be possible from behind the wheel of a patrol car.
This photograph was taken at the end of our filming together.
A reminder that behind every uniform is a human being with a family, a story, and a reason they chose to serve.
This is what Ubuntu is really about.
Not crime.
People.
UBUNTU – A Cape Town Story.
Coming very soon.

About: The documentary was made through @noexcusefilms — our UK production company.
A small team. No big crew getting in the way of the conversation. No agenda we were trying to smuggle in.
Three things we promised ourselves before we boarded the plane, and held to from the first day of filming to the last:
– No sensationalism.
– No shortcuts.
– No excuses.
That’s the company. That’s how we work. And that, more than anything, is why people who don’t normally talk to cameras sat down and talked to ours.
Waitlist in bio.
